Petition Title: | Direct Debit payments for Motor Tax in all classes |
Submitted By: | Individual |
Petition Text: | This government and successive governments have failed
amend and modernise the motor taxation payment system as
it is known today. THIS NEEDS TO CHANGE NOW.
It is just not good enough in this day and age that technology
cannot be used effectively to assist those who struggle to
to meet there motor taxation commitments. This is an option with a positive outcome
once its made available.
For Seven years of Austerity I have struggled to pay my motor in the format that
currently exists. I live with the worry of penalty points being applied to my
licence because i am overdue with the forthcoming payments.
I pay and manage many other bills by Direct Debit but
this government would prepare to drag its heels rather than update the system.
Giving the option of Direct Debit payment is a no brainer. It would allow
many in this country who struggle to meet the payments manage better on a monthly basis.
I am calling on our legislators to move this to the relevant committees for agreement.
As a former Dublin City Councillor I call on all relevant PUBLIC REPRESENTATIVES to
support this petition once and for all.
Its also not good enough that my fellow Irish men and women in the north of this island can pay their motor tax by direct debit yet I cannot pay mine by direct debit because of the old lazy red tape bureaucracy.
Thank you in advance
Andrew O' Connell
