| Petition Text: | I wish to change the requirements for a driving test please as it is too expensive on young drivers to pay for 12 lessons before u can sit a driving test, the cost of insurance is too high at the moment for everything to be done along with the price of the actual test, I feel a more open approach would work better for example if drivers sat 4 lessons then took the driving test which then would be passed while the edt lessons could be taken as a requirement for car insurance. The price of me doing all the lessons plus driving test plus road tax plus insurance is the best part of 2grand without even buying the car please I'm asking you to consider this as the expense of this is way too much on young and new drivers I realise that some things just need to be done but me along with other new drivers taking up driving late in life to make things easier and not having to rely on public transport and having a bit of independence with regards to driving. I know I could pass my test now with 4 lessons along with 90% of all learner drivers please help us instead of hindering our progress... |
