Petition Title: | Water Fluoridation |
Submitted By: | Individual |
Petition Text: | A request as a matter of public safety to review the mandatory fluoridation of Irish water for human consumption. There has been much media and public interest into this issue and research highlights that fluoride has ill effects on human health particularly in terms of cognition, emotion and fluorosis. Fluoride is a generally unwanted byproduct of aluminium, fertilizer, and iron ore manufacture. The medicinal use of fluorides for the prevention of tooth decay began in January 1945 when no research into adverse effects on human health had been conducted. Fifty nine years later it is now time to review the topic of fluoride in light of advances in medical research and education on fluoride and human health. |
